Ideas on how one could determine the freezing point of fig sap? Might need a dedicated freezer to try at different temperatures

There would be some variability too. Depending on the sap Brix. Higher brix buys a few more degrees.
So…. What I’m hearing is I need to start testing the brix from sap of different varieties and see if it correlates to their cold hardiness?![]()
That’s my biggest fear having the breaker just cut off on me on these fridged temps. Everyday I’m looking at my app just to see if heat is working. It’s a daily routine but worth it.I just leave them in.... Do keep an eye on the receptacles if you have ground fault. They have a habit of tripping when you need them most.
With that concern, what is the benefit of electric heating versus just filling with dry soil? More control over temperature? That’s my biggest fear having the breaker just cut off on me on these fridged temps. Everyday I’m looking at my app just to see if heat is working. Up where Vito lives the temps can dip down pretty severely with little notice. It's more insurance. With that concern, what is the benefit of electric heating versus just filling with dry soil? More control over temperature?
I'm trying to find a picture online... (because I'm too much of a wimp to go out and take a picture). I have these little inline plugs that to between the extension cord and the receptacle with a little LED in them. You can easily tell if the power is on from a distance and run back inside where it's warm.....That’s my biggest fear having the breaker just cut off on me on these fridged temps. Definitely more control I’m able to adjust my temps in the box the way I need to. I don’t just just have the coil wrapped but also a temperature controller that is connected to my app. Anywhere I go I can adjust my temperature. As for the soil a little more of getting some labour work but can be achieved. Will have to see what happens when I unravel the box of soil I’m confident the tree is safe. Thanks! I'm very interest to hear how the soil-filled box worked out. Please update in the spring, if you can.Definitely more control I’m able to adjust my temps in the box the way I need to.
