Typical of DTE?

I got DTE last year. I decided to wake it up a couple weeks ago. I was going to use it to graft since I have two trees. The cuttings turned out to be bad so I just let this thing grow. It didn’t fruit for me at all last year and what you see is the totality of its growth. For those of you growing it:

Is it typical of this fig to be pushing out breba like this with basically no vegetative growth?

I know it’s supposed to be a reliable breba producer… how do they taste compared to the mains?

It’s making up for lost time. Maybe it overheard you say something like ahh life threatening if it didn’t get with the program. 🤣😂🤣😂

When my trees wake up in my garage every year, that is exactly how it happens.
I have a few doing it right now, no leaves...plenty of breba.
Excuse my ignorance here, but is it the same with cuttings as well. I had a CdD Grise that had two breba the size of quarters before actually getting leaves. First experience with any cutting putting on figs and any breba period.

I've seen cuttings do that every year, I take them off...some leave them on.
Pretty normal.
You figure, had that wood been left on the tree it would have grown those breba.
Being pruned off doesn't change anything, the buds that become the breba are still there. :)

OK.... Good to know all is normal. Just different. I'm going to keep all the breba on this tree then. As soon as I can I'll get it into a bigger pot then feed the heck out of it.

What is DTE? Is there a list of acronyms for newcomers? 😁

I gotta make my way around to getting a dte cutting. I keep hearing about how early and awesome it is.

Edit: signed up for email notification with kremp florist for when it becomes available on their site again.
