Too hot in the microclimate I plan on putting my fig trees?

Ok. It's still winter and low was in the 20s last night. It is currently 56 degrees and the sun is in the sweet spot for my microclimate area that I plan on putting my figs. I have a sensor out there that I monitor. It is currently 107 in that area on a 56 degree day. Is that going to cook my trees in that area? I've confirmed that temp with a secondary device. This is on a 5-6' brick wall absorbing all the sun.

What does your setup look like? Can you post a picture?

Pots or inground?

If inground, just mulch heavy and they’ll be alright. If pots, you may want to look into different ways of shielding your pots.

It's nothing special, just a long stretch behind my house that faces due South. So it gets lots of direct Sun.

The will mostly be in pots. I'm measuring directly on the wall, so hopefully 5' out from the wall will me much different. I'm going to go put the sensor on the ground around 5' out a see if that makes a difference.

That is a great spot. Your trees can be literally a once away from the wall if need be noting will happen to them that’s bad. The temp of the bricks does not equate to the temperature around the bricks. I have trees facing south against the bricks of the house and they love it.

Thanks! I did move the sensor to the ground around 5' away from the wall and it dropped to 79, so I should probably be good if I put the trees a little bit off the wall.
