So should I be worried about how wet my potted figs are right now?

3 gallon but they were uppotted about a month and a half ago

3 gallon is on the small side. But only uppotted 1.5 mo ago then, it probably doesn't need as much water at this stage.

If you plan on checking the root ball, be careful not to just pull/yank it out by the trunk. Do it sideway and let the root ball slide out because it may not have filled up the pot at this point. Pulling it out while the soil is wet can cause it to crumble and damage the roots.
