NV1, from yesterday... pretty excellent for a November 1st fig in Maryland.  Great deep taste, and beautiful red/purple interior color.  I love the figs that still hold up taste and complexity even late in the season, when several of my varieties have lost most of their leaves.  My larger NV1 tree from last year produced 0 figs this year.  Probably because I pruned it too hard last winter.  This fig was off a cutting from that tree that I started in January 2024.

Wow! That looks great! I think I’ll get some next year. My first year tree grew great this year, but no figs. Now I can see what I can (hopefully) look forward to!

Do you grow mostly in pots?
Is this one in a pot?
Just curious...immabout to start copying what your doing. lol

Hah, thanks! This one was in a pot, just a 5 gallon.  Most of mine are in 7-15 gallon pots (over 100).  I have about 25 in ground... which grow like crazy after 2-3 years.

It does that well in the northeast? How is it doing on earliness and productivity for others? It looks stellar

So far it does.  Not sure on earlyness yet, as the only figs I have gotten off of it have been off of first year cuttings, and they are always all over the place for me with ripening.  It is not a very big fig, and also hasn't split on me yet, so thats good.  Hopefully next year I will get some good ones off of my 3rd yr tree, if I don't over prune it hah

Looks fantastic. The seeds look plump. Is this pollinated?

Nope, not pollinated.  I got busy, and didn't get any time to try hand pollinating any figs this year, and there are no fig wasps anywhere near Maryland.  Hope to try some next year

Gorgeous,as always!

Man, I sympathize with the pruning too hard thing. I didn’t get fruit from my NV1 and I suspect that’s why as well. Not a mistake I will make again!

Thanks! yeah its always tough.  Especially on these popular varieties not to prune back too far.

Very impressive for being un pollinated. It’s rare to have a fig look that good.

Nice one!  It's on our list now.

Who has it?
I usually order cuttings from Harvey, OTBP, Tinkerbug, Kremp, ProFig, etc.. Rosy Posy sent some nice ones last year as well.

Also, I'll start a new thread, but Missouri's George White... they are selling sapling (all native species, persimmon, plum, pecan, chokeberry, elderberry, etc.. for 60 cents to $1 each).  Search and you will find it.

I will have some, but not a ton, I just have 2 plants of it :D .  I don't sell any until the trees are dormant in late November

I got NV1 this year at the Fig Frolic thanks to @"RandyK"#37 and it hasn't fruited yet.  I plan to graft copies early Spring and make them available once I fruit and verify true to type by summer.
