Harvested a few different Adriatic type figs today. The Belvedere and Angelito were the best tasting. All were very good and the skins are still soft and chewy.

I’ve noticed that the skin on AJH can become tough and leathery during high temperatures, in cooler temperatures not as much. Do other Adriatics also have that characteristic?

I don't remember any having tough or leathery skin unless they really start drying on the tree. In my humidity that rarely happens

@387PETE Overall how would you rate your adriatics this year? I assume you have WM#1 how does that stack up against the above adriatics? What tastes similar? Which one was the most productive? Finally if you had to chose between 3 adriatics to keep based on flavor and production which would you choose for your growing conditions? I have very limited room for growing and storing so I cant try them all.

@DianaNE I do have WM #1 it's a great tasting fig, top 5 Adriatic. My most productive is Unk Prosciutto but it's also the oldest, 4th year tree 3rd year inground. My top 3 Adriatics are Angelito, Green Goblin and Unk Prosciutto. If I could only have one I'd choose Angelito. 3rd year tree 2nd year inground very vigorous and productive. It's been cold hardy so far.
