Nice surprise in the garden this morning

My garlic is coming up. Only 1 row though. I planted 2 rows. One row I soaked the cloves in the fish fertilizer and the other I just stuck the cloves in the soil no soak. Since November I now forgot which row had which cloves.

Not going to assume either way, but isn’t a fert soak supposed to help/speed up garlic?

That’s what I heard but when I soaked mine all the skin came off so I planted them skinless. I’m thinking they’re the ones that haven’t come up yet.

I’ve never grown garlic, just started looking into it last year. Everything I know is YouTube knowledge or hearsay. Looking forward to other members responding.

Cool thanks, I think it's more about prepping the clay than anything, we have so many rocks mixed in to dig a hole is a big undertaking. lol

Garlic is definitely worth it. I find it very satisfying. It’s easy to grow and critters don’t touch. It matures so early that even here I can use the same beds for a second crop. After harvest I mix in a bit of compost and direct sow something like beans or peas.
