New Fig Grower Looking for Advice

Been a while since I gave an update.

So far the only cuttings that have thrived are the celestes I got from my dad's neighbor, the brown turkey I got from my uncle, and the LSU hollier (sole superbowl survivor which finally recovered from the leaf browning plague).

Since then I got an Italian, yellow long neck, and hand (honey?) Fig from a local grower which are all doing great.

I also have a couple RDB cuttings from @Kompakfigs which have surprised me that they are still alive/green although haven't put any growth on yet. I just restarted them in a pot and put them out on my deck last night. Also got a huge RDB from @cdh which is the tallest I have so far.

Also wound up getting a JH Adriatic from FigNFruit thats doing alright, a Kadota from lowes, and the 6 year old unknown from my Uncle which is still recovering from shock (still green). None of the cuttings I took from that one have shown any signs of life yet.
Well i have similiar news. I’ve had a bunch of success from cuttings, but we’ve had random thunderstorms that drop several inches of rain in an hr or two. I put my newly up potted cuttings on the porch under the roof, but still enough rain got into the pots to drown a bunch of young trees. 😢 it’s really disheartening. One larger tree that has struggled and an airlayer was also drowned. The trees never leafed out due to sun damage and immediately got rained on so they didn’t survive.

Sorry to hear that.

It is what it is. I at least didn’t murder all the sticks before they rooted. Weather here is screwy normally and it’s been worse this year. Normally we don’t get rains like we have been having or a week of 90-100 degree days with 40mph winds. I’m just appreciating the ones that are thriving and on a cheerful note i have CdD’s and several other trees popping figs!

This will give you a firm idea what will thrive for you. I know, not much consolation.
