Monticello Mystery Purple

We are trying to find Monticello Mystery Purple. The late Micheal Grace told us about this variety. Encanto used to have it in their collection but not anymore.

Sounds interesting. This is what Jon posted about it.
"The orchards at Monticello were replanted in the early 1980's and this included the replanting of fig trees. They reestablished their fig plantings with six fig trees including: Osborn, Brunswick, Brown Turkey, Angelique, Marseilles, and Green Ischa. In addition to these figs is one that has mysterious origins. This fig tree produces very large purple fruit. A picture taken around 1950 shows that the fig was likely there at that time. There is currently no other evidence to verify the origins. It is only speculation at this point in time that the tree existed before the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation acquired the property in 1923. The name "Monticello Purple" will be used until proper identification can be determined"

Thank you. I have seen that before and have been trying to track it down awhile. We live only 20 minutes from Monticello and would like to re introduce it to the area. Padsfan sold one set a few years ago on figbid but it has never resurfaced.
