Moellada

Reminds me of Pastiliere.
I did a little research on Moellada and it is mentioned with Pastiliere. I guess it's MP version of the variety. I have Raintree version of Pastiliere it drops most of its figs every year and they are smaller. It grows like a bush, the Moellada grows more tree form. Pretty vigorous and none of the fruits have fallen off.

That’s great! Is your Pastiliere in ground? Mine is starting to ripen up!

That’s the #1 reason I never bought it.

hello pete ,so they are the same ?
I don't think so, I've had Moellada for 2 years and its never dropped any fruit. Pastiliere raintree I've had for 2 years and its dropped every fig. My pastiliere grows more bush style the Moellada grows more upright with fewer trunks. Leaves are different and I can't tell you if they taste the same because I've never had a pastiliere.

They are different,
Moellada is smaller fruit, and a little later in the season. My Moellada has a rougher, almost furry type bark sort of like Cherry Cordial bark but not to the same degree. It also grows well be not nearly as vigorous as my Pastiliere. My second season Pastiliere already has a 2" or more thick trunk.
Potted in 15 gallon.
For what it's worth, I ate Moellada off of Pons' tree, the fruit keeps the ribbed appearance in Pons' arid climate the same as in my Humid one. Standing under his tree, stuffing my face I didn't get the thought that it was Pastiliere, I also didn't have Pastiliere there to compare with.

I one day hope to also stuff my face under a Pons tree. #lifegoals
