This is Tammy. We just adopted her today from a local animal rescue. Our Ziggy the shredder became ill a little while back and sad to say has departed. We missed him very much. Right now she’s exploring her new home and we’re all getting to know each other. She’s a little over a year old.

Congratulations! We have always rescued our cats from the pound. We firmly believe any animal rescued realizes how lucky it is to have found you and brought home.
She’s so inquisitive of what’s behind every door, on top of the kitchen counters, kitchen table etc etc. I have all the bedroom doors closed till I know she will use the litter box, I don’t want any surprises. I got her home around 1pm she hasn’t used it yet.

I would lock her up in the room with the litter box until she uses it. This way the location is imprinted in her mind and will come back to use it next time.

We can't have any animals for a while...I mean we could, but no one is home for most of the day.
Animals as we know can get depressed and start unwanted shinanigans! lol

That's a nice lookin kitty Teresa. :)

When you retire you will be able to have a pet. For now enjoy the wild life as they walk through the yard. Yesterday a nice flock of wild turkeys enjoyed snacking on things in my neighbors yard behind me. I enjoyed watching them from the kitchen window while I was washing my dishes .
