Looking for pawpaw and persimmon starts

If anyone has known or unknown cultivators of pawpaw and persimmon started trees that they'd like to trade. I have some fig trees and fig cuttings and will have apple scions available to trade.

I am cleaning some native persimmon seed to start soon. I am just about to start scarification. I can share, if you wanna try starting them.

They are from a tree I used to deer hunt under as a kid on my Dad's place. The wildlife love them, but I'm starting them as rootstock.

I also have some saplings on order, but they won't come until sometime in the spring.

I think I’m in the same boat as you! I have two first leaf tiny pawpaw seedlings, but getting ready to start lots of pawpaw and persimmon seeds in the spring. All the seeds are from local wild trees. Should be fun.

Also, the Kentucky Division of Forestry has pawpaw seedlings you can purchase pretty cheap. You buy now (so they don’t sell out) and tell them which week in the spring that you would like them shipped. They don’t seem to have persimmon this year.

We might have some extra persimmon seedlings I could dig up and send bareroot. They are good grafting diameter. Atleast two years old. Do you have MGM fig still to trade?
I also have Sheng and Tam Kam Asian persimmon Scionwood.

Hi,
Yes I'm interested, I have some really nice MGM cuts and others too if you looking for something else.
Thanks for reaching out.

I missed this year’s window to buy persimmon trees. I have been talking to a few expert persimmon growers -members of Persimmon World on Facebook- and watching YouTube videos… long story short, these are the cultivars that would grow and ripen in MA Z6a:
Kasandra, JT02, Zima Khurma, Sofia gift, but will not be available until June of next year (Nikita Gift will need some protection).
@SpiritFarmVa I am considering Tam Kam to grow in a large container.

Three fold farm has persimmon scionwood for sale right now.

I looked them up, they have common American persimmons only, unless I misinterpreted the listing…

I have a source for you that I can recommend. I intend to graft some persimmons in the spring and I need rootstock. About a month ago, I ordered and received some very nice quality seedling trees from TN Nursery. They shipped them in about 2 weeks as bareroot and I potted them into treepots. I ordered a bundle of the 2-3' size and they are just right for grafting. I'm very pleased. I expected to receive some that were larger or smaller, but they were all very consistent in size and diameter.

One thing to note, they seem to be constantly running sales, so it's worth it to join their email list.
