Late Season FiaTeo 2024 (Caprified)

Do all the figs have the vertical streaks on them? Almost looks like a really, really, really small watermelon in the third picture.

I don’t think so. This might be sun burn.

Is this one common?

Presumably from what I’ve tested. Here’s a link to what it looks like unpollinated.

LoL,  sorry I even commented on that post.
I'm really hoping it's common, because it's growing fantastic, and has 6 or 7 big old fruits on it.  But frost is long overdue.
So next year.........

It might need a head start next year. I first found it with fruit on the mother tree in late September.

I am very much hoping to see....and eat some of these this coming season.
So long of a wait.....gah!

The critters have gotten so many of mine, I’ve only been any to enjoy the few I’ve posted images of. I have 4 trees.

They got all mine, lol
Just one tree!
Going to protect it next year for sure.

I had wanted to try this one a while back before I retire next year, but it looks like I won't have time anymore. However, I still hope to get a couple of cuttings with me.

The most honest reviews come from the kids.... Unfortunately, too often at the dinner table. Glad this one got 10 thumbs up! :)

I remember that conversation. If you're still in SoCal I can send you some.

Thanks, I already went to plan B and made an arrangement with Kid Fig on the other forum to exchange a real Cosme Manyo air layer for Fia Teo and his Rionon.

Ok. I stopped logging in over there about a year ago and didn't have any contact info for anyone.

Completely understood. No issue here.  :)

I was looking over my little first year tree today.  No ripe fruit this year, but quite a few big green fruits developed.  I'm excited for good things off of its next season.  I think its earned a slot in the greenhouse headstart program this coming spring.

@"Figology"#21  What are some of your other finds?

I originally started collecting figs so I could see how FiaTeo compared to the best in the world, so far it's right up there at or near the top, for me anyway.

Some of my notable finds that have been released include HSK Unk., Geno Unk., Sweet & Sour Cherry, St. Chocolate Unk., and Chatsworth Unk..

Thats pretty cool!  I think I read that you named FiaTeo after your children?
I have you Geno UNK growing as well, it's a first-year tree.
Will you have cuttings available of your finds?
