Landscaping with Figs

That is amazing. My wife’s uncle lives in Mobile and his trees died to the ground as well.
That's surprising for sure! Died from cold? I know this past winter here in St Augustine, we got an overnight low of 23 degrees which is as cold as I remember it getting in the 21 years of living here. But it was just a brief 23 degree overnight low. No figs were damaged at all. The side of my house has space about the size of a normal house lot. I have 12 figs in-ground in my backyard, and 4 in big planters. Side yard has 48 trees in-ground and 4 in big planters. Talk about fig scaping lol. I think it's beautiful. 😊 But I'm officially out of space for more (depression kicks in).

Pineapple guava is often suggested as a fruit tree that HOA residents can put in their front yard and pass off as an ornamental shrub.....
Very true! I have 5 varieties of pineapple Guava and 4 of them are in the front part of my yard, but on the side of my house. Your right, HOA would not like it, but in this case, they won't even notice; they look like evergreen shrubs

Pretty flowers, too! ..... I just got my first feijoa today, as fate would have it.

That's awesome! The flowers are beautiful and the flower petals are delicious! They're not paper thin like a lot of other flower petals. They're thick and full of juice and the taste is amazing.

What variety did you get? I have a unnamed seedling variety that is a 7.5 foot tall topiary tree. I also have Mammoth, Kaiteri, Kakariki, and Takaka.

I got a Takaka. I have no concept of the flowering-fruiting cycle of these things yet, but it looks like I've got flower buds....
