Lady York Foods - Traditional Italian groceries

@Figgin' A - I don't know if you ever get this far east but if you ever pass through, it's close to the 401. Colangelo Brothers market on Midland Avenue. It's an Italian food oasis. http://www.colangelos.ca/. Fresh, local meat every day from Highland in Stoney Creek.... Rare, quality imports. Tiny building, and family owned. The parking lot is a zoo but the quality and selection are excellent. Fresh bread from Calabria bakery down the road. If you want a Sicilian taste near Easter, Francesca https://francescabakery.com/.... they still make old school almond marzipan that looks like museum art coming up to the end of march Francesca also has a italian/canadian hot table :)

Thanks for the links, Joe. I will definitely check them out. Ironically, many years ago, we lived in Scarborough near Midland and St. Clair, but I didn't know those places existed. Maybe they weren't there back then. Anyway, looks like I will be going there soon :) Francesca's Sicilian cannoli and sfogliatelle look so good that I just must try them :)

They were there... I was also there then.... :)

Going down for the night.... we should talk

You should also look for North Pole Bakery on Danforth :)

My family had a deli/bakery in the east end..... I grew up there

These are genuinely delicous! Authentic stuff. If you live in GTA and have a sweet tooth, do yourselves a favor and visit them. @TorontoJoe Joe, thanks for your recommendation!

P.S. Francesca's Bakery is very dangerous. I wish it were closer to me, but at same time, I am happy that it's not

They’re a real gem in the east end. If I wasn’t still feeling like death I’d be heading up there.

If you get the chance to go approaching Easter, definitely do so. IMO the are the foremost marzipan artists in the city.

This is all marzipan. The flavour is authentic Parmelitano

You really know how to torture me. Yes torture because I’ve eaten them and know how wonderful they taste. Especially the Sfogliatelle, some people call them “lobster tails”.
