Anyone using this? Can it be used for fig trees? I don’t see a NPK listed on the label so does it have to be added to a NPK fertilizer?

Depends. Yes, but this is sold by a third party. Sometimes they elect not to do so for whatever reason. Usually because they don’t want to be responsible for return costs, if that were to happen.

If I use just this once a month when I water my containers in the shed, will it wake up my trees from dormancy? There’s no nitrogen in it.

I honestly don’t know…. I wouldn’t think so but that’s just a guess. The minerals might build up though if they aren’t used. Not sure if that would affect anything

Btw last year when my container trees died someone mentioned about it might have been cold come through the floor from underneath the shed so this time my husband used 2 thick blankets each folded twice so each one is 4 thicknesses. He put 2 containers on each blanket. Hopefully that will help keep the cold from touching the bottom of the containers.

Strange to me that it got that cold there. How low do your temps get?

@Figgerlickinggood do you have power in the shed? Or maybe you can get a long cord to it? I have a heater in my garage that is set to only come on when it’s around (pause for conversation from Celsius) about 23f. It almost never has to come on but it’s a bit of insurance against a really deep dip. They don’t last too long but can do some real damage.
The other thing I do on winter is I water with snow. I couple of times over the winter I shovel some onto the trees in the garage. It just trickles in slowly.

I feel your pain. I grew up in North Dakota where -30 to -40 degrees happened every winter. The local forecast didn’t really focus on the actual temperature, but rather on the time of skin exposure to frostbite.

I worked in North Dakota one summer. The people there said it hit -50 the last winter. I couldn’t imagine. Summer was nice though. Spent a lot of time chasing ground squirrels
