I thought i killed this tree affectionately named "Edgar" over the last winter. I am so pleased he decided to finally wake up! Just sharing because I'm happy 😂.

Were they stored inside or was it in ground?
Mine were all in a semi climate controled garage.
My CLBC and Olympian were the two slow to wake ones.
It was in an unheated garage. Its in a 7 gallon cloth pot. This is a Chicago Hardy. I have a better storage situation lined up for this coming winter and will hopefully have a few more that need stored by then.

Good deal, always good to have a plan ahead of time. lol
Still time for that one to fruit and ripen. :)

Hope so, as long as it doesn't decide to drop any. Do you think I will get some figs of it starting this late? Its a 4 year old tree this year.

If you have some main crop growing on it now...figure 90 days to ripen a Mt Etna.
You should see some figs. :)

You can grow all the way into Sept. and even Nov. unless you are really up there.
Give it some nitrogen to spark the green growth.

What's the npk...you can use the tomatoe fert to start with.
It's like 24 8 16... then move to a more balanced fert after a few feedings.

Nothing wrong with that. Nowadays I just look for anything it might be missing so I know if I need to add it. Calcium and iron are frequently missing from soluble ferts. Good that the one you have there has sulphur. It's often overlooked.

I recently started using some of this stuff for calcium, magnesium and sulphur.

One thing that you may want to consider adding into the mix. The last few years I've come to love pelletized chicken manure. If you have chickens you can get it for free but this stuff is awesome.

I use this stuff but I don't know if this brand is sold in the US. I'm sure there are many identical ferts near you.

Just so happen to have a couple dozen chickens at the ministry i work for so good to know 😆. Just like a cup or so in the pot or a specific amount?

It's magic stuff and so good for the soil. If you plan to use the fresh stuff I recommend you get advice from someone who has more experience with the stuff. I know rabbit poop doesn't need to be composted but I'm not sure on chicken.

@ktrain Do you have any wisdom to offer on this?

You defeinitly want to age it some first...we let ours age at least one season.
The amonia content is too high when it's fresh....also nitrogen is high.

After one season it should be great to use, I just spread some over the top...not really measuring...lol
A large pot, 10 to 15g...start with a cup full and watch the results.

The stuff there is from last spring so it should be ok.

Yeah I seen that, I was recommending something with higher nitrogen, as that is how you should start your season.
As they're waking up a nitrogen boost can help get the growth started. 😁
