Iranian Candy vs. IC vs. Hollier

Friends,
I am trying to decide between Iranian Candy and Improved Celeste based on early ripening, and taste. I have one spot left in the backyard to add a a top honey/sugar fig variety (hopefully one with a rich / complex / fruity flavor?).
Also, I am wondering if the flavor of these two is similar to Hollier, as I already have two Hollier, potted and in-ground.
 
I have yet to try Iranian Candy, that is one I will be rooting this year.
But....I believe Hollier is one of the sweetest figs I have ever had, tried some out at strudeldogs place.
Me and @2Angels and some others went in and ravaged his trees for all their goodies. lol
But give Hollier a couple years and I don't think it will disappoint.

We got some Hollier this past summer and they were delicious! Both potted and planted trees were first leaf, so I believe the quality / taste will improve as the trees mature.
It is tough to decide on what variety gets planted in-ground when you are down to one last spot 😊 so the kids love honey/sugar figs but it must be an early variety, as well.
 
To me, the 2 of them are not similar. They are both also different than hollier too, but hollier is colser to iranian candy I guess. Improved celeste has a bit of a berry flavor mixed in. Hollier has a very buttery honey taste, and Iranian Candy has a very refreshing sweet juicy taste. All very good figs

My Hollier was just "OK"... maybe needs more time to come into stride. I hate to think on how many trees I gave up on that may have risen to greatness. u. Prosciutto took I don't know how many years. It produced meh figs forever. i think at the time I probably kept it for the name. Then finally, like a caterpillar into a butterfly! One of my best overnight.
 
I agree with ktrain. I have LSU Hollier and tasted Imp. Celeste and Hollier to me is much better. I don't have Iranian Candy nor have I tasted it so I can't comment on that one.
 
I am going to try DTE, and if successful then it will get the last spot in my backyard.
@MJFIGS do you have DTE planted in ground?
If so, weigh in with thoughts and suggestions please.
 
Improved Celeste i got as a plant from Lance makes a Delicious fruit .. first and second year no Berry at all.. in an OF post someone claimed DTE is better, which i have not tried ... personally I couldn't imagine it tasting better. Someone else from zone 7a said ICON is far superior also and so maybe the extra heat makes it magic. It ripened really well here in the high 90s F and delicious... a somewhat complex flavor of Caramel with Molasses and with excellent sweetness... stand alone i don't care for either of the flavors but together in the ICON ratio is Delicious! One of my favorites in this climate and in a 10 gal pots so far.

I have IC also but it is a starter

It’s ubiquitous fig that I’ve never grown… And I have no idea why. Based on everything I’m reading, now I think I might need to try.
 
I have both DTE and Hollier. Both very prolific, first year for Hollier airlayer, different figs. DTE which has more berry flavor imo, ripened every fig. Brought Hollier inside under lights for another crop I thought I would try to finish under lights (don’t know if this third crop but it started late and kept going). My wife liked Hollier, they were easy to tell when ripe. I think I ate most of the DTE before they got to the house. Put them both in 10gal pots, air layering Hollier to send my daughter in Florida.
 
Here is our Hollier versus Yellow Lebanese.
Similar figs but the Yellow Lebanese was bigger, more productive, more flavorful and better tasting. We wouldn’t give up our Hollier it’s a great fig. But if we had to choose one it would be the Yellow Lebanese.

How much larger a fig does Yellow Lebanese generally produce?
