Inground Project zone 4-5

Thought I’d share the progress on the inground. Everything seems healthy and soon to be freed. Keep you guys posted May 1. I really encourage do everyone to do this method. I feel like it cant get any easier than this. It’s practical and effective with no rodent problems. I hope one of you at least try it on one tree. It’s a game changer for th inground fig growers.

Vito! When did you take these pictures? You still got snow!?!?

Hey guys thought I’d share an update on the inground. So yesterday I decided to unbox because weather seems to be perfect to do so. My tree is waking up quiet nicely, now it’s a matter of weather watch. I thought about buying 2 tree covers. I layed over one but if it gets really cold by chance I’ll throw on another one. So I unravelled the box filled with dry soil and got good news 😀 . This one year old inground actually survived. Just wanted to give you a heads up on its progress.
So this year 2026 I had done the same method with my dads in ground as mine and results seem to be working well. The tree is still young and dad doesn’t care for it in the sense of feeding it, but it looks healthy to keep growing. Let’s see how she grows with no care and let nature take coarse. it’s almost like a no care experiment 😜 IMG_5578.jpeg

Looks like yours in good shape. Mine have been in the greenhouse since March 15 it’s the sweet spot of waking them up. I don’t even have room to move in the greenhouse for how much they are growing.

Are any those cuttings from your trip to Italy last summer?
