Indoor fig trees using jadam jlf..

I was not able to find many posts of people using jadam so I wanted to share my experience.. I started these cuttings on march 30th 2025. I used jadam liquid fertilizer I made this year to feed my figs weekly. On 1st and 15th I used jacks 3/2/1.

Bold move using JLF indoors.

At least a few forum members have mentioned using JLF on some of their trees. I made my first batch last Fall and started using it this season on inground trees - I’m sticking to good ol’ MiracleGro AP for my potted trees though.

I’m not bullish yet on it being a super nutrient supplement - anecdotally, I believe JMS has worked better for me.

I can only imagine the smell - what is the makeup of your JLF, dilution and potting medium?

Other than @Inflorescence, I’m not sure anyone on here uses JLF exclusively when fertilizing their potted trees.

As noted above, AP stands for All Purpose.

My jlf is comfrey leaves, grass clippings and rabbit poop. The fish is same but fish instead of comfrey/ grass clippings. I use 32oz of each in 15 gallon container then water my fig trees with that. Smell is not terrible, usually lasts a few hours with fans and windows open. For my garden I add same little
More and it sticks over night but next day it is all gone.

@NYC_Fignetic judging from your pictures the jadam is clearly working. But the 20 20 20 Jack's does contain fertilizer salts if memory serves. That could help with the uptake of all nutrients if used rotationally. Congratulations I'm afraid my neighbors would burn me out leaf and stock if I tried it.

What potting mix do you use? I used miracle grow seed starter with extra perlite. Once rooted I used deluted Jacks 20-20-20. 1/2 tsp per gallon water. Now it’s full strength every 2 weeks. I only have 3 cuttings that I rooted. Michael Grace Mystery, Stella and Marseille Black. This picture was taken yesterday.

For rooting I use coco coir, 50/50 mix of perlite and rice hulls.. once they have good roots I have a potting mix of foxfarm ocean forest, happy frog, mushroom compost, perlite, rice hulls, pine bark, worm
Castings, pumice. Then I add blood meal, rabbit poop (fresh), bone meal, azomite, oyster shell, Dolomites and alfalfa meal. I also add osmocot fertilizer..

I dose mostly jlf, once a month I will dose jacks 3-2-1.

I dose my vegetable garden and fig trees at around a 10% solution ~2 quarts to ~4.5 gallons of water. I was surprised how quick the smell goes away and isn’t off putting at all.

@NYC_Fignetic - I'm totally unfamiliar with JLF. Even the Google searches I did were inconsistent. Are there any good resources you know of to understand it better?
I just use YouTube and the jadam sight. Garden like a Viking does a good job with it.. they now have something new called
Jmp.. it’s an all in one that does not need soft water. Basement figs also had a video out on his liquid fertilizers. Pretty much you can start with leaf mold, grass clippings in a 5 gallon and let it ferment in the sun.

Thanks. I'll check it out
