I need a consultation

I love all your choices. Great varieties you just need to extend that Greenhouse, you just need to extend that Greenhouse a little bit LOL maybe into your neighbor's backyard

😆 I’ll probably need that to happen even with culling some underperforming varieties

You may have a bad phenotype of these varieties. All your varieties are top tier unless you intend to spend a lot of money

It’s possible I guess. Most of these came from off the beaten path nursery so I trust my source. I guess they aren’t as good as others is all I’m saying.

I was so happy because several of mine rose from the dead... @ little sprouts from the base ... most did okay in pots fully exposed to just below 15F... I may have lost 3 or so.. but 7 or 8 others appeared to be culled by nature... they started over

But still why do I have so many lol

OTBP are one of my favorite nurseries for cuttings, and for small trees if I can get them. Being in California that can be difficult. I would wonder about your soil pH and your fertilization program. They're cuttings just explode into roots. I would say the exact same thing with @Trustyfarms Also @JMF75 I wonder what may be going on with your other growth factors. I mean there's always a difference between cuttings. But overall I really like the quality of OTBP cuttings.

No culling allowed for at least 4-5 years so you can see the full potential of each fig in your area. Then, of course, you need to trial all of the promising ones in ground. In the meantime, you can continue to get more because you know you’re going to be culling a lot, and also a bunch of them just won’t do well in-ground in your area. But in the end, you will have the best collection of in ground figs anywhere!
This is the route I'm choosing. (y)

Your choices may be high quality, but they are very poor candidates to go inground in your grow zone.

My choices inground:
Bissirri 3
Atreano
Improved Celeste
Green michurinska
Crozes
Campaneire

These are good early candidates. All your others are much to late to get fruit inground in your zone. I'd keep 90% of your list in pots and stick to earlier fruiters inground.

Agreed OTBPN has great material and top notch plants. Ive had great success with his stuff....

I’m not saying a lot of these are bad figs, just that I think others are better/ and worth the effort of a 15-20 gallon pot.

Improved Celeste, Atreano have survived in ground a difficult winter So I am happy with those two. I was just looking for advice with other in ground candidates to save my back.

I think maybe, everyone could be looking at this from a different perspective. Maybe the solution is a bigger greenhouse and more fig trees? Just saying... 😀
Ultimate Goal-
I’ve been working on my wife and kids on the idea of moving to Spain for awhile. Probably will never happen but each day it gets slightly closer.

Short term goal - saving my back by getting rid of under performing or figs prone to splitting. I think if I could do a gothic style hoop house I’d love to grow, unfortunately it’s a lot of hoops to add one to my property.
