Hot pepper

My potted ghost pepper has been producing steady for awhile now but the ones planted in garden are either just forming pods or have small peppers - not sure if they will mature in time.

Do you eat and enjoy them? Mine will be used solely to torture the critters eating all the plants and flowers.

I cook with them and hotter peppers. They normally have a really good flavor. But you have to watch how much you use. I really need to watch because my wife can not handle them. Cook down with garlic and rosemary if deterring insect's and animals. The mixture works well but needs to be sprayed daily. The hotter the peppers the better.

I grew habanadas (no heat habanero) last year. My wife loved them. I also grew a bunch of random seeds from super hots that a coworker got at the farmers market. I ended up with something resembling trinidad scorpions and chocolate ghost peppers.

At the end of the season the half ripe scorpions looked very much like small habanadas. My wife decided to collect and roast peppers one night. She managed to get 2-3 scorpions in the mix of habanadas. She came down and grabbed a taste and apparently got a scorpion. I insisted that those habanadas had no heat and then ate one. At that point I realized what had happened.

I have a great picture of her in tears sitting on the stairs with a big glass of milk giving me the finger. I have since been banned from growing anything super hot. I do love them though. They mostly have really good flavor after you get over the soul crushing heat. They definitely let you know that you're alive, sometimes to the point of wishing you weren't.

I freeze dried a bunch but am somewhat terrified to open the jar and accidentally release some dust.

I love the sugar rush peppers and most of the aji peppers. Brazilian starfish was a great one also this year. Sweet and spicy peppers are the best lol
Yeah man these I can handle...anything hotter I'm not really interested in.

Yeah the Brazilian starfish wasn’t much more than jalepeno and the others like aji fantasy, aji orange drop, aji strawberry drop tasted fruity but same heat level as the sugar rush. I definitely like eating habanero levels so these are quite tame compared to that. 500k to 600k is my scoville limit for enjoying so these top end of habanero types.
