My Unk. Mittica (Atreano type) took hardly any winter damage this past season, and because of that it’s currently my largest tree. It’s around 7 feet tall and wide, and has already put out a staggering amount of new growth.

In addition to that, it already has double bumps / bb size figlets at nearly every new leaf node. If all of these form full figs that ripen (which I have no reason to believe they wouldn’t…) then I’m going to have a bumper crop in a few months!

I only have a Atreano and it’s a vigorous grower and has double bumps at every node too. I heard Atreano type is not good in humid conditions, but Mittica White should be better.

I don’t Feel like my area is super humid, but lots of people complain that it is (just south of Baltimore)

I grew up in Houston, though, so maybe that’s why it doesn’t feel overly humid here…

Either way, Mittica does absolutely fine here:

How about splitting? Any splitting issues?

Been considering Mittica but w 5 similar types ive always resisted. Some of the similat types split, but some dont... its funny theres a true difference is split resistance. Thin skin can tear slightly to compensate, but thick skin just straight splits

I haven’t had any splitting issues yet - it is on a slope, though, so that kind of protects it from too much water possibly?
