So for less confusion I started three chain messages. The initial victims received this message:
Spooky chain victim #1
You have been selected as the spooky chain victim #1, if you accept you will receive these cuttings: (varieties)
Rules:
1- must be able to receive cuttings and send cuttings to the USA
2- keep sender and recipient unknowns for some fun
3- must be willing to ship cuttings to the next victim, change the message title and body number to the next victim number.
4- cuttings must be fruited and verified by you, or if unverified be sure to state and make recipient aware of them not being verified.
5-please send only healthy cuttings!
6- if your cuttings are not able to be shipped immediately please set up shipping with the recipient and continue the change as quick as you can, cuttings do not need to be shipped for the chain to continue as long as both parties understand the cuttings will be taken/shipped when ready.
Copy and paste to the next victim
Then I realized I need some clarification, I will still keep the victims and cuttings secret for now. Some newer members may not have cuttings to share or possibly even just not ready. The cuttings may be taken and shared at a later date but would like to see the chain continue even if the cuttings don’t get shipped until a later date. Discuss with the next victim when they prefer to receive or if they are ok asap. The transfer of cuttings is completely dependent on the two parties involved.
On my first victims if they will not have sufficient cuttings to offer the next in the chain I will offer to send cuttings for cost of shipping and then select a replacement victim, I think if it stalemates then contacting me or another long term grower for some help could help coordinate or resolve it.
This highlights the importance of your signature line with wants as the current victim can find the next victim more easily. You could also ask the next victim to request off your list of what you currently grow as an alternative to offering what they have on a wishlist.
I’m open to change of rules as this is my first time starting a chain of any kind
