Grow Room progress

Hi I just wanted to share my build out and progress I have made on my figs. I currently have 2 different rooms, 1 for new figs and the other (wood room) is when trees are 1.5-2 months old they go in there. I am using DIY soil, I also use Korean Natural Farming / Jadam. Besides feeding the trees, I Foliage Feed them 1-2 times a week with KNF ( OHN, BRV, CAL, LABS ) I will be incorporating PSB as soon as it is completed. Besides what you see I have 3 totes with Cuttings so this is probably 1/2 of what I will have in the summer. One thing i noticed is using Silica with the cuttings has helped a lot. I noticed nice big roots. See below example of some young trees where left side I did not add any KNF and the right side I dosed same but with KNF as Foliage Spray.

Cuttings and first room:


Right side I have a ViperSpectra P2000 @ 40% power it is putting out 34,000 lux I think thats something like 450 PPFD. Left side I have new smaller lights I am trying out Bestva and some Cheap Chinese light. Bestva is a good light putting out 31,000 lux. Other white light is 29,500 lux

This is the other grow room where I have Spider Farmer SF4000, Vipra Spectra xs3000 Pro and some other chinese light. These are putting out between close to 40K and not even at maxed power..



Left Side just water and little Fish Fertilizer, Right side same but with KNF as Foliage Feed 2 times a week.

Agree 100% I really enjoy seeing them thrive just as much as eating them.

My setup is similar to yours but in grow tent, I just stepped up to commercial 8 bar light, day and night difference in growth explosion, I am doing airlayers in February, in Michigan

Grow tent would restrict my space a lot, I also need access to the back door..

Nicely done! I've used those mylar space blankets a lot. It's amazing how much they can increase the effectiveness of your lights by reflecting more back onto the plants

Holy moly!!! I so wish I had an entire room!! You have done a great job!! Are you just giving them all a head start or do you plan to keep them or some of them in the grow room to push early and late fig production?

Bahaha…I had that EXACT thought when I was considering a grow tent! The potential grow tents got bigger and bigger until I started eyeballing my dining room, which was even bigger…

If I had a greenhouse or a high tunnel, I’d be handing out baby fig trees like a figgy Johnny Appleseed to everyone!
