Grow Room is ready: Push that Button?

Grow Room is ready.

I tested the setup inside the Grow Room earlier to make sure it is ready and will run as intended. I have installed all T8 LED fixtures, but not the 7 FEIT full spectrum grow light fixtures as I don’t think they will be needed.

To test Lux level, I placed the UT383 unit 12” below the lights, it registered a reading of just over 27,000 Lux.

Note that at noon today, I checked the Lux level of natural light by placing the UT383 right next to a south facing window in direct sunlight, it gave a reading of 52,000 Lux.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!?!

Grow room? That's crazy awesome! Is that In your house? I have lofty plans to do reflector panels and lights in my garage but this totally rocks!

My jaw is still wide open. That's so bloody impressive! We're going to need some details on the setup. Build? Heating? Location?

Thanks, Joe 😊
I started working on this room back in November.
I took over one of the 3 car garage aisles, framed and finished it with double reflective insulation on four sides and ceiling, then I added pink insulation, R-19 (sides) and R-30 (ceiling), and wrapped it all with heavy duty tarp. The aisle is 10’ X 18’ but I ended up using 10’ X 12’ only. I can expand if I need to, since the space is already built and available.
A friend (master electrician) added two dedicated 20-amp outlets, and I upgraded the power generator, just in case 😂
Photos are kind of self explanatory.

Three types of Light fixtures:
Last season, I used 10 tubes T8 LED lights, 90W 6,500K, 12,000LM

This year, on January 2nd, I bought two packs of Barrina T8 Grow Lights

And, I have 7 packs of FEIT grow lights but I have not installed them, yet.

Heaters:

A couple of small size fans, a rocking chair, a small table, a boom box, and mini bar… to sit down and relax 🤩 A grow room and a man cave.

Temperature wise:

Today, it was 19 degrees outdoors, and 45 degrees inside the garage.

I switched on all lights, and within 35 minutes temperature inside the grow room spiked up to 62 F° without using the heaters.

By the way, this aisle will be available to park a car during off season, say between end of April and end of November when fig trees are not inside. The insulation at both ends can be lifted and the light fixtures as well.

Looks great!
Are you doing anything with the floor? Something as simple as a couple layers of cardboard will keep the temps from being sucked away by the concrete.
