I keep a spreadsheet with info about all the fig cuttings and trees that I have. I just received a Forza cutting from the @Opiem10 giveaway. Thanks! I've tried to find more info on the fig and found Rocco's history of the tree. AI gave me some info, but not sure if that is correct. Can anyone verify if this looks good?

Variety : Forza
Fruit Size : Large
Skin Color : Green
Flesh Color : Light Amber
Breba? : Yes
Short Flavor : "Rich, sugary berry"
Flavor Category : Sugar/Berry
Flavor Profile : Dense and meaty texture with a lingering sweetness.
Fig Class : Common
Harvest Time : Mid-Season
7b Concerns : A sturdy, productive variety often found in Italian collections."

FigVicious (Rocco) self-named this unknown that is in his collection. If I recall correctly, Forza, in Italian, translates to “Force” and this name was applied as it is the most vigorous, fast growing tree he possesses. The mother tree has been growing in ground for many years, so it appears to be very winter hardy.

I’m hoping Rocco will weigh in and confirm the information you put together.

Good afternoon Figgers,
John and I are planning to do a fig tasting and review of all five Portuguese Unknowns, along with Portugal Express and Forza. Maybe we’ll do a video — or just take photos of all seven trees and figs.
Forza is a family heirloom one of 2 trees my dad n uncle brought here from Italy and Portugal Express is my friend João’s fig tree that his dad mailed here via Federal Express (that’s what FedEx was called back then). Hence the name Portugal Express.
I’ve attached a few photos of the PE tree and figs below, along with a description of both figs from a prior post. The PE and all 5 Portuguese Unknowns do not get covered here in NJ. I’ll take pics of the Unknowns when I have time.
ALL PICS ARE OF PORTUGAL EXPRESS !!!
The interior picture fig was picked early I can not find a ripe pic of it so hope that works for you guys.

@FigVicious - That Portugal Express looks fantastic. I'm looking forward to your reviews. So far, the unknown #4 is really taking off for me, and I'm going to have several to plant this spring. I have the others in cups, but only the #1 has shown me a root so far.

Which cuttings do you have I’m curious. I didn’t distribute them Opiem10 did.

I have the unknowns #1 through #5. I had plenty of the #4 so I tried a couple of single nodes. One was in DE and another in normal potting mix. Both took off. I potted the others a few weeks later, so I hope they will get going soon. The #1 is a big log and sent out a small root this week. I'm guessing that it will really get going soon.
