Figs for diabetics

O.K. everyone, are figs good for diabetics to eat? I have heard and seen differing information and want to know if anyone has any connections to Doctor(s) that can definitively answer this question.

Yes they can, in moderation.
Fresh will be way better than dried because the sugars concentrate in dried figs.
They are high in fiber as well as natural sugars.

Eating a couple figs shouldn't be an issue so long as sugary things were not eaten previously.
I had to research this before....so thats what I found in a nut shell.

Fig leaf tea is beneficial and can lower insulin requirements in type 2 diabetics by 10%. Not fruit, but leaf tea. The latex sap might be the active component?

I'd imagine the fruits are good like maple syrup is better than sugar. Prob still get a sugar spike from fruit but I'm no doctor or dietician.
