Figs and head starts

I rooted a Chicago Hardy in my first batch back in December and was inside in the 70s under a grow light for all of spring. It took off pretty well and had a small fig hidden under a leaf back in March. I put it outside 3 weeks ago. So this fig is probably 50-60 days old and already turning colors. So with a 75 day hang time, does that mean this would be ripe in a few weeks? It is already soft, but not hanging down.

Many of my trees have started putting on figlets now, my Champagne looks like it will have a ton. My I258 looks adorable with its 4 little figlets.

I've also notice a little bit of algae/moss growing on the top of my soil. Is this ok?

The moss might indicate that the soil is wet and or a lot of shade, which is not a horrible thing i would water less and let it harden up a bit by slowly moving it to a sunnier spot every few days. You are in VA so the heat shouldn't be too bad yet. The first figs are usually the worst. Often, they seem to not ripen right and are just meh, that yellow and splotching are usually how those look so I wouldn't count on that particular fig to be representative of the figs you will get from the tree in the future.

You clearly didn't read his post where he said he has a glass-assisted 135-degree microclimate in his yard!
Haha. Yeah. These are all currently under a 40% shade cloth. The sun is rising though, so less reflection off the windows every day. I may start to remove the cloth some.
