I'd like to offer a cutting giveaway with a little different twist: a giveaway for Father's Day. I have two teenage boys and some of my favorite memories with them as they were growing up was in the garden together. My vision for this giveaway was a gift for fathers to start cuttings together with their sons and/or daughters so that the tree could be their 'special tree' for them and their family through time.
Please honor that the giveaway is for dads. I don't care if your children are 2 or 62, if you are a dad and you promise to start the cuttings together with your son(s) or daughter(s), you're in! Dog dads, please wait for the next one!
A few details:
The cuttings may be from any of the following trees: Peter's Honey, Italian Honey (Latarulla type), Pellegrino, JH Adriatic, Blue Celeste. There may be one or two more, including a Mt. Etna type. The trees are all healthy and productive and give delicious figs.
The Pellegrino has some FMV out of the gate but grows nice and healthy as it becomes established. The Blue Celeste also showed signs of mild FMV but once established grows beautifully.
The cuttings were taken before the trees came out of dormancy so they have been in the fridge for a few months, but they are still very much viable. They were not treated with bleach or peroxide. It is up to you if you'd like to do a mild treatment to prevent mold. Note that two years ago, I had mites on two of my trees that were brought in from another collection. The trees were treated and there are no signs of mites in the collection. NONE of the cuttings are from trees that showed any infection, and I always remove apical buds anyway as a precaution.
I may not be able to honor requests for specific types, so I'm limited to offering variety packs. Remember that this is primarily for the kids! If I have something that you'd like, maybe we can work something out after this season is over!
I can handle 3 or 4 variety packs, first come first served. PM me if interested.
