Fairfax strawberry

I saw edible landscaping had Fairfax strawberries available so I swung by and picked up a couple. They are a little more susceptible to disease than modern varieties, but for fresh eating have long had a reputation as one of the best tasting. We’ll see if they beat out Seascape and Mara des Bois.

My blueberry guy grows a lot of different items, I got some strawberries from him, but he didn't remember what variety...I let them take over a raised bed and so far have been really good.
This old guy doesn't remember a lot of what he has growing (variety wise) but they are some of the best.
Especially the BBerries!

How did your strawberries turn out? Did they beat the Mara des Bois? I was thinking if getting Mara and/or Charlotte as I hear they are quite sweet

I only got 5 or 6 Fairfax to try this year, they were good but I can’t say exceptional (they were better than Seascape). They are in ground now so the real test will be this spring.
My problems with Mara were they just turned orange red, not fully red. They were small and fragrant, just not as sweet as I like. I picked up a Tristar this year too and I like its firmness.
Charlotte looks interesting.
