DTE is in a rush!

Last time I had a plant this eager to push out figs it was Exquisito. This DTE cutting is really squeezing them out.

No roots yet so these will need to come off… painful but necessary

Have others growing DTE experienced this much figgyness this early?

Sod did a video on it if you remember. He said it was very sweet with a good seed crunch. Also deanp wasn't as big on the flavor but thought it made up for it with productivity.

My DTE put out one fig last spring, about 4-5 weeks into rooting. I left it there and was able to taste it around late July. Didn't have multiples though.....

I find that if I don’t pinch off figs that develop this early, the plant stalls

My tree puts out an abundance of figs every year
I don't recall if it was cranking them out like this while rooting though.
That worries me that they will run out of gas before it can take.
Hope it goes the distance.

Yea...I do recall this one putting out quite a few breba.

Its ironic, because of all of my fig trees, DTE is never in a rush. It is consistently the last in ground fig tree to wake up from the winter...... Sometimes it doesn't leaf out until a month after most or all of the others
