one thing thats a bummer as a native plant enthusiast is they list a bunch of hybrid azaleas as native, but theyre not. or they are hybrids of two U.S. azaleas without overlapping ranges. But their selection is quite good for azaleas.

Man i hope my r. calendulaceum comes back this year. the drought reallly hit it hard and i didnt notice until it had a little dieback/ wilt
The cultivars of native azaleas we sell were hybridized from seed collected by the breeders and then grown out and selected. We do grow a few straight species but focus mostly on the more colorful cultivars. The native plants we grow are native to North America and we opted not to list them by region for simplicity.

For everyone rooting Cherry cordial for the first time this is a variety that once it has a few leaves it will need more water than any of your other cuttings. Keep a close eye on them when watering your other rooted cuttings they will dry out quicker. And when they go outside this spring again they need more water than the rest of the varieties. Cherry Cordial Aka Water Hog

Omgosh, thank you so much for posting this, @387PETE!

I just checked, and while all the others figs popped on the same date (12/04) are fine, you are so right - Cherry Cordial is dry as a bone, super light, and in desperate need of some water.

@snarfing, you were right, too, about its growth- the leaves are huge already for its age. I’m going to have to up pot this one much earlier.

Skip the tree pot and put it in a 1 gallon nursery pot. That beast needs some growing room!!
