Yes, you are correct. It's one of my favorites, and it is an excellent Atreano type. It grows really well here. The eye is small, and it resists splitting. I prune pretty hard. So I've never ripened a breba, but the main crop is big and 'fruity.' The fig was brought to Alabama from Israel prior to 1960 by Dr. Gowaty. He took a trip to Israel to visit family and friends in his hometown. He subsequently brought back cuttings from the tree that was on his family's property, which I believe is a kabutz. [Interesting side note, Mr Figs, who introduced Israeli Black to the hobby, says that it also originates from the same family farm in Israel. It is also quite split-resistant as well.]
