Double/Y leader tomatoes

Anyone doing double leaders on their indeterminate tomatoes? Trying to keep trellises short and not a fan of lower and lean. I’m guessing if an indeterminate in my area can put on 12 ft growth per vine, I can put a trellis at only 6 feet tall by double leadering.

I’m only growing indeterminate cherries and in the same boat with just over a 6’ trellis. I let them grow as they wish and tie up as required.

I have a bunch of rigid wire garden fencing that I’ll attach to the top of trellis and cantilever over. That should buy me another 3’ and then let the vines hang down from there.

I tried to let mine do this last year. I wound up with a mess! Lol!! I pruned to two main stems but they both got just as tall. And now I was pruning twice as much and I had too many too close together. It became a giant entangled tomato jungle!!!😂🤣 Now, I did get a ton of tomatoes !! Too many in fact. I couldn’t give enough away. That was using the square foot gardening method. This year I going with less is more! Lol!! I’m using 2 foot spacing and will be pruning to one main stem. We will see how that goes!!
