Diagnose please

I haven’t seen this before. Can someone help identify it and what needs to be done , if anything?

It’s callousing up for roots. Was probably too much moisture there. Don’t need to do anything. It’ll be fine.

No ants. This was the only cutting in a large bin of cuttings. Just returned from vacation and starting to up pot.

i'd say let it be and hopefully it will settle down. Probably by product of high moisture.

I've had that on my cuttings that had moisture trapped around the base where the bag was twist tied. At first they were lenticels then dried up brown like that.
