Cutting These Cuttings?

I just received these three cuttings from Harvey. They are plenty long and have a lot of nodes; especially the HdA. The one on the right is a NdA and on the left is a Calvert.

Should I cut them in half and try for two trees, or would I have better odds leaving them whole?

Or maybe cut one node off the bottom and try single node rooting? I've done that successfully with a VdS, Owensboro, CH, and Portuguese #4.

Am I being greedy?

Those are some nice cuttings!

I cut all my cuttings down to 2-3 nodes so I can double my chances. I have found I have a similar success rate with 2-3 nodes or longer cuttings.

My thinking was that I could double my chances too. And if I get two, then I have one to give away.

If the cuttings have enough nodes an you only have one of each cutting I would do it as insurance.

Those look plenty long enough to get a couple or more each. I agree, cut them.

almsot all my harvey cuttings i split into 2. i could have done mroe but i didnt want to get too crazy.

If the cuttings have enough nodes an you only have one of each cutting I would do it as insurance.

Plus, I like it better when the main growth is coming from just one node instead of 8. You don't have to prune the cutting *into* a new tree--it just makes one branch that becomes the main trunk.

I cut most of mine every year.
One of the benefits of Harvey cuttings. Lol
