Cutting Raffle to Benefit Figfanatic.com

I put the cuttings in soil November 1st, I see Iranian Candy and Hog Island started pushing buds out. All of them feel pretty tight in the soil, so I’m hoping that is a great sign. I have them in my small shed with a work light on when it gets cold outside, I also just started putting a grow light on them.

First picture is Hog Island and the second picture is Iranian Candy, I am actually looking forward to the Iranian Candy because I don’t have a bunch of light colored figs. I’ve heard awesome things about it, I’ve done some research about it when I originally saw this post. If I’m not mistaken Iranian Candy is not the original name of this fig, but is a highly regarded fig.

Nice!
Yes, Iranian Candy was formerly called Raasti.

Update on the raffle cuttings, it’s been 25 days now!!! The bud on the Corynth is breaking open now, the first picture is Corynth, second picture is Hog Island, third is Iranian Candy. Angelito and Hative as still looking alive and vibrant, so far so good🙏🏼

55 days in and Iranian Candy did not make it, it pushed out green growth and then shriveled up and died. When I pulled it out the soil it didn’t have any roots, looks like the stored energy has been used up. Hative d’argent, Corynth, and hog island are still going strong. Angelito never actually pushed out any growth and did get any roots.

Sucks about the Icandy and Angelito, but at least the others look good.
