Two kids birthdays within a span on 6 days with a party and family visits seperately. I actually think things get easier once we hit November.

Received my cuttings from the raffle yesterday evening, @DCallahan added a Hog Island cutting from my wishlist. I am so grateful for that
I decided to do my cuttings like Notorious Fig did in his video about a year ago, I just watched it last night

They are in the pro mix, I have to regroup with my bags. They are a little thicker than I wanted and they are to short, I think I’m gonna go to the grocery store and see if I can get some produce bags

I put the cuttings in soil November 1st, I see Iranian Candy and Hog Island started pushing buds out. All of them feel pretty tight in the soil, so I’m hoping that is a great sign. I have them in my small shed with a work light on when it gets cold outside, I also just started putting a grow light on them.

First picture is Hog Island and the second picture is Iranian Candy, I am actually looking forward to the Iranian Candy because I don’t have a bunch of light colored figs. I’ve heard awesome things about it, I’ve done some research about it when I originally saw this post. If I’m not mistaken Iranian Candy is not the original name of this fig, but is a highly regarded fig.

Update on the raffle cuttings, it’s been 25 days now!!! The bud on the Corynth is breaking open now, the first picture is Corynth, second picture is Hog Island, third is Iranian Candy. Angelito and Hative as still looking alive and vibrant, so far so good

55 days in and Iranian Candy did not make it, it pushed out green growth and then shriveled up and died. When I pulled it out the soil it didn’t have any roots, looks like the stored energy has been used up. Hative d’argent, Corynth, and hog island are still going strong. Angelito never actually pushed out any growth and did get any roots.

I am very excited about the 3 that did take root, I have 1 Angelito cutting that I acquired from a facebook sale, it’s in a fig pop right now

Hopefully it takes! I have Angelito trying to root right now. Idk if it will, it’s a thin cutting probably better suited for grafting but we’ll see.

lol same. The person who sent mine made sure to send a thicker one along with the few that were really thin. Figured I’d try the thinner ones then double down with thick’s if they fail.
