Could 2 diff types of caprifigs pollinate each other?

Could 2 diff types of caprifigs pollinate each other?
Yes. Hand pollination is recommended.
Then get germinable seeds?
Yes, it is common practice in breeding programs.
If works, What is the ratio of F1 types?
The variation in offspring is large. Academic breeding programs typically propagate well over 100, then after a few years cull out mutants, then plant out 70 to 100, and then ultimately select a few.

Would there be any common fig or Just Caprifigs in F1?
To obtain a Common (persistent female) fig, the first prerequisite is to use a persistent Caprifig for the pollen parent. And just for clarity sake, note that Caprifigs are not male nor female, but instead monoecious.

Among the UC + UCR breeding records of the prior century, there are a few females with Caprifig x Caprifig parentage.

Elsewhere on this site is a fledgling discussion of which traits are dominant with which parent. I've forgotten where, though. It would be nice to have a dedicated thread. Maybe one exists?
