Cool videos

That second one was a cool video, especially for people who live in a place with cold winters.  Thanks for posting the link.

Absolutely love nonno and nonna! Reminded me of my pop. The "waste nothing" attitude..... he even grows his own plant stakes!

I'd bet his basement has some cured meat treasures! :)

Thanks for posting this. I wish I could take a drive down to Niagara to meet him in person.

We are vacationing 2 hours south of Cancun Mexico. The area feels like one big forest abutting the ocean, with temperatures in the high 70’s low 80’s
Lots of coconut trees around the resorts, but I keep seeing fig trees inside of my head 😀 I swear if I head a couple of cuttings on me, I would’ve literally stuck them in the dirt by the side of a rural road, and come back here in a year to harvest 😎

I love them, too. I have been a subscriber for a while. Nonno Pasquale makes his own wine. There is a video where he shows how he does it and toward the end, he has his demijohns in the basement and it just looked to me like he might have a cantina in there too.

Your right about that. They waste nothing. Loved when he said he doesn’t need to go to the gym to work out, just need to work out in the garden. My mother in law next month is turning 102 years old grew up during the Great Depression, she could never pass a tag sale. I remember once she made me stop the car, we go and look at the items. She sees a salt and pepper shaker for 10 cents she asks can she have it for 5 cents. I was so embarrassed. She had so much stuff in her closets that the doors looked bowed. What she called “frugal” we call hoarding. She frugaled to the point of boarder line hoarding. Now my mother was the complete opposite, she also grew up in the Great Depression but was a clean freak. She hated clutter.

Looks good Joe. Curious where did you get 5 and 1 gallon glass jugs? Not easy to find those.
Most I inherited from my father. The rest … you’ll love this…. were given to me by my (now retired) barber Tomasso when he said it became to heavy for him to do. He gave me a bunch of wine equipment. I made sure to bring him jugs of vino whenever I’d visit.

I’d look on Craigslist. I’d imagine there are many aging wine makers who’d like to see their equipment go to good use.
