I have been growing since 2024 but just joined FF last week. You have several I don't, even though I have 20. If anything left that likes my humid southern climate I'm interested. NC zone 8a (7a this week) LOLI have a good number of "leftover" cuttings from the various Community Cuttings Giveaway Program giveaways run during the months of November and December. Many of the cuttings are on the thinner side or may be from relatively common varieties but should be able to be successfully root.
For that reason, I will open this giveaway to new fig hobbyists or those who are relatively new in their ventures to root fig cuttings. By limiting the giveaway to newer fig growers, I hope efforts to root these cuttings fuels their fig growing flames.
The Giveaways:
1) Each "winner" will receive between 20-25 cuttings for the flat rate shipping charge of $10
2) Just post a reply to this thread expressing interest to be considered eligible. The first five interested NEWER GROWERS or NEW TO ROOTING MEMBERS, are guaranteed to receive a package of cuttings, the varieties of which will be mixed and included at my discretion and based on available inventory.
3) Additional interested members will be placed on a "Waitlist" and will receive packages of cuttings in the order of replies until such time that my inventory is fully depleted. I believe I have enough cuttings for at least 10 packages to be sent out but the eventual quantity of packages may be slightly more or less.
4) Varieties to be sent out include: VDB, Kadota, Negronne, Chicago Hardy, Forza (FigVicious' self-named variety), RdB, LSU Purple, Little Ruby, Yellow Long Neck, Desert King, Brown Turkey, Olympian, Sal's Corleone, UNK Portuguese #1, UNK Portuguese #4, and Italian Honey. Some varieties have limited quantities so it is not possible to ensure that each winner will receive at least one stick of each variety.
Here's to supporting our newer fig growers on the forum.
Hello! Snarf sent for me and I'm very much on board to learn to grow figs!
I'm new to figs! Got my first tree this April and am working on my first batch of cuttings now!
Received my 20 fig cuttings yesterday from the fig giveaway. I was excited to see what came and thankful to everyone involved. The evening was spent getting those babies started. Hopefully I can keep my water and temperatures right and have a very green Spring. FYI... Used coco coir, peat and perlite in clear cups to see root growth. Plan to send pics soon.I have been growing since 2024 but just joined FF last week. You have several I don't, even though I have 20.
