Great book, awesome reference material.

Its pretty interesting to me to read Pons' assessment of the different varieties in his climate the native one for them, to what i experience in my vastly different climate. Some are better to be here then he describes there.

The pictures were nice and glossy. Its more like an encyclopedia because its heavy. The info given was more than I needed. For example size of the eye, number of lobes, the usage and location on the island. The person who I got the book from said it was just collecting dust on his shelf. I looked at it the first day I got it for an hour and put it on my bookshelf. It was there for 4-5 years collecting dust too. I went through it and took a few notes just before giving it away. Most of the varieties are not available in the US if I remember correctly. If you are a collector and need to compare one variety with another to ID it, maybe you will like it.

The growing conditions there don't apply to my area. I get more current info online so the book just took up space so why keep it? I told the recipient if he didn't want to keep it, please raffle it off at a fig event.

I don't have it yet. But at some point will get it. Looks like a great book for those that like to research and/or those who collect many figs.
