Anyone Ordering Seeds Yet?

I have a serious seed problem, no doubt. All it took was a little conversation on another forum and I spent the night perusing vegetable seed sites and ordering already for next year. I feel so early! Usually, I wait until January or February.

Anyone else ordering seeds yet and have stuff you’re excited to try? What is it? 😀

I have so many seeds in the freezer. I really need to go threw them and see what I still have. If I order any this year or early next. It will be tropical fruit. Something I got out of because they do not like the winter here. But I can still try. :)

Tropical fruits are so good, it’s hard not to try with them! Hard when your zone is almost there, but not quite warm enough in the winter. Any specific ones catching your interest?

To many :). I have grown plenty of them in the past. That was my interest before I really got into figs. I love the look of syzygium. Had some beautiful Malay apples at one point. Also love the look of the MaFai trees I had. So maybe some baccaurea types. I really should just stick with figs tho.

Riiight? I saw a youtube short and had to get a little pack of seeds! I'm excited to plant some come spring, but I'm in no rush to get to spring just yet. XD Southeast Texas seems to be almost exclusively summer, so I'll enjoy every moment of the cool weather while I've got it. But I didn't want to forget, so I ordered it right away.

I bought some seeds from David the Good’s daughter’s Etsy store

He likes the velvet bean for nitrogen fixation, well he likes a lot of plants, but he hypes this one. And his son’s landrace watermelon project is interesting. I think his son picked up seeds from the Caribbean where they lived and from seed shops too and just lets them cross pollinate, so there’s a little mystery in that.

Bought a bunch of flower seeds this year. That pink dandelion is interesting and the green petal Echinacea.

The gourd stash

I also bought American Ginseng seeds and planted them already….

Mike inspired this purchase. I’m excited for all this stuff, he says Quintay got the highest marks for flavor roasted, I’ll probably grow those and the Mystery Reds first and maybe some Ozette

I went to Lancaster, PA, to buy cheaper perlite and Promix, and wouldn’t you know, if there wasn’t a free standing seed store just sitting there, with every wall lined with seeds and discount bulbs, all those little bags of promise, and so cheap like 50 cents - $1 for fancy tulips and alliums…yeah, it’s the Amish’s gateway drug for us gullible English who can’t just drive on by the seed store, even though it’s no where near seed starting time…sheesh!
