Anyone growing Trinacria?

It’s a honey type, purple skin I believe, if I’m remembering right. Right now Houston area is getting hit with snow and this hasn’t happened in years. I keep my figs in a 20 ft shipping container so when the weather clears a bit, I’ll take a look if I can take some clippings off of it, I’ll be happy to share!! I’ll keep you posted.

You'll be a perfect fit here. :)
Hope y'all stay safe out there, I have a brother out that way.

Great. Now I really want one :)

Does anyone know what part of the motherland Nikki hails from? Maybe I can find another way to reach out to him
I've heard he's from Sicily
But I was also told today over on the other place that he's actually Russian/Ukrainian just living in Italy. Cybercop gave that response when I posted some pictures of Nikki's Verdone Dark

I have a Trinacria here that’s going on 3 yrs old in a pot. Very productive, it is early, as early as RDB, very sweet. What stood out about this tree is it had so many figs growing in a 3 gal pot!! I bought it from Dave from the group What The Fig on Facebook and he got it from his cousin who is Nikki in Italy. I’ve got several of Nikki’s figs and I’m happy with all of them.
Sorry guys but I gotta ask!

* Discalimer - those with weak willpower please look away...

Could you name the Nikki varieties you have and possibly a brief description of each please!

OH - and which ones are your faves from his collection (you have).

Who is this Nikki? Would someone with a Facebook account please show me who this is?

Deanna, if you have enough to spare. I could offer some cuttings in trade.

Ok, so first off, I’m not affiliated with Nikki (Nicolo Parrino is his real name) I stumbled upon a Facebook group named What the Fig that was started by Dave Serricchio Sr. Every year he does a cuttings sale from his own collection and quite a few of them came from Nikki who lives in Sicily. From reading different posts I’m almost positive I’ve read Nikki is Dave’s cousin but I’m not 100%. So, 2 yrs ago I bought
Zaffiro
Trinacria- early
Della Soucera-
Papone
Cuore di Bue
Lumera
Laghel-
I don’t have anything bad to say about any of these, they have all given me figs and were tasty. I’m so busy with my big collection I don’t baby them at all, sometimes they get fertilizer sometimes not, I don’t remember any problems like splitting or spoiling. I have some pictures to share of what I was able to find because Nikki has his own Facebook group named FigArt by Nikki. I’m not sure if he’s a professional photographer but honestly his pics are to die for and that’s how I got wrangled in!!

The Trinicria looks fantastic, but then so does the Cuore di Bue. LOL God help me I want them both.

Just found this guys this might be the synonym of tinacria “zaffiro”

Good find would make sense, since zaffiro also comes from his collection i believe.

Yeah… they look pretty close. I don’t think I’ve seen figs like this over there and I’m back and forth the entire north coast from Trapani to Messina. I wonder what area he’s in.

If you look at the fig database from the website I posted it’s does say zaffiro is a Trinacria.
