I picked up the kobalt pruner with extension pole today at Lowes. I already have a model that I bought on Amazon that works great but i bought it because the kobalt one was out of stock for the longest time, so I wasnt sure if they were still going to sell it, so I bought one on Amazon that is awesome, but I happen to be on the lowes site today and saw they had 3 in stock at my local store so I figured I would treat myself. The kobalt one comes with a 4.5' extension pole which i think will come in handy with the bigger trees, especially seeing that im having a shoulder sugery next week so once march and April come around and the weather starts teasing me with a few warm days I know ill be anxious to get outside and do something. Does anyone else use one of these , what model, and how do you like it?

I looked it up it says “New”. Only does up to 1.25” where most do 1.6”. Not available here currently but I could get it shipped. Let us know how it does for you. I believe this might be my next tool purchase.

We bought a Dewalt one this year and like it though it's still pretty new and only cut a hundred or so cuttings.

I do a hard pruning on all my trees for winter storage so I got myself a Dewalt cordless pruner. Took me 3 days to prune, store figs, and sterilize 1600 cuttings. Also used up 3 whole fully charged batteries to do it. If I had to do that may cuttings with hand pruners my hand would have fallen off lol 😂. If you have allot of pruning to do or just really thick cuttings…power pruners are the way to go.

I bought this one off Amazon first when I couldn't get the kobalt and it worked great for me, good reviews, and it comes with a nice case 2 batteries and extra set of blades! Its reg 89.99 on sale for $54. Now 1000007169.jpg

It sounds great. Does it work for all your fig branches, or do you still have to use a saw for some?

Dewalt makes good stuff i just thought theirs looked a little bigger and bulky.

I got mine at ace hardware on sale and paid $90 out the door for it and have never looked back. I use it all the time to prune the inground fruit tree orchard and figs. It’s not as bulky as you think and it’s a beast that also has a little light incase you are doing a little late night pruning. Man I sound like a Dewalt dealer lol. All things aside I recommend it 100%. I even bought their mini cordless chainsaw for those thicker to handle branches.

Thats great, you sold me on it! 😂 I wanted the kobalt because I already have alot of the kobalt tools, and batteries. So when I couldn't get it , while waiting and hoping it would be back in stock is bought one that came with batteries on Amazon and it works great, but now I just picked up the kobalt with the extension pole so I have a backup. I was looking into one of the mini chainsaws also, they look thicker they are handy

Idk why I didn’t buy them sooner. Hand curbed pruning saw and pruners were by my side for years but once I jumped into the power versions I’ve never looked back.

I have been eyeballing the mini chainsaw, too.

Do you think if one buys the chainsaw, it negates the need for the motorized pruners?

Or are the pruners able to get in the tougher spaces more easily?
