Anyone else here in Virginia getting blown away?

The high wind that was forcasted came through right on time today. Started at noon and predicted to go till midnight. Also doing the predicted speed. 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50-60 mph. My kitchen window faces the back yard. When I was washing dishes I could see one of the houses behind me. every time the gust blew through our yards I could see one of those houses the roof tiles at the top of their roof were lifting up then one of those 50+ gusts came through and those loose tiles complete blew off. My husband went outside to see if any of ours were doing that but they didn’t. Around 3 pm our power went out for 10 minutes then came back on. Now every time a gust blows our lights flicker. I hate losing power at nighttime.
 
The weirdest thing happened at our house last night. My husband was watching tv in the living room, I was watching tv in bed and my son in his bedroom. Suddenly there was this big very bright orange flash of light that went through our house then slowly faded out like an old time light bulb when turned off. The power didn’t go out, no big clap of thunder. It was really creepy. Suddenly I thought did DC just get nuked? LOL

Teresa sounds like something got nuked, probably a Transformer that was not connected to your part of the grid. They look like that when they blow out.
