So I'm moving fairly soon. I've got about 250 pots that I need to arrange. I'm going to be:

1) putting all of the pots on thick but permeable weed barrier to amplify heat and allow me to not worry about weeds
2) T-posts with heavy gauge wire in long rows to allow me to tie the plants to the wire and to run drip lines along the wire
3) Dosatron for fertilization

2 questions:
1) what am I not thinking of?
2) how would you arrange the pots? Also keep in mind that I'll have another 90 or so once I up pot all my new 4x9s

Send help. Or prayers.

We have started putting ours in mostly #3' and true 3 gallons about 2-3 feet apart in rows and they seem to be getting alot of light and are growing well. I still don't know if that will be enough room or if they will bush out enough to fill up that space. I would fertilize with slow-release fertilizer that was much less of a pain than mixing water based, at least until you get the water line up and running. Where are you at? Maybe it gets to hot and you might need shade cloth. Also are they well labeled? I hate the idea of losing trees because of a label fading or something like that.
I wish you luck!

just curious what you need the T-posts ? If it was me and I had the space, I would go with 10 gallon minimum. Thats if i have a way to transport in winter to green house or garage. If you looking to put T posts to use as shade cloth then ok i understand and makes sense. Also as trees grow you dont want hem falling over due to small pot so yea maybe T post and tie them down i not a bad idea.

I want the T-posts so I can string heavy gauge wire for a long line (100ft or more) - I want to tie the drip line to the bottom wire so it's suspended off the ground and drops directly into the pots. The additional benefit is to tie the main trunk of the plant to the wires to prevent them from toppling over - it can get quite windy where I am. It would still then be easy to untie them and move them inside if need be.

Any plans to espalier the trees along the aircraft cable?

Mine are all going to be in #7 or bigger. All well-labeled too. I think i'm going to put T-post caps on so that I can put shade cloth over them if need be, but I've only done that once in 5 years tbh and even then, just with baby plants.
Caps would be a great idea. Then, if birds/squirrels were a problem you can also drape mosquito netting over. I don’t use wire but use cattle panels with the tposts.

I would suggest making rows north - south for more even sun. Maybe 2 post, 18" apart on each end. Wrap wire in around to encircle figs. This will trap them in during your high winds. When they wake up add Osmocoat plus to each, then add injector to drip for liquid fertilizer a few times each month. Use paint pen to label your pots so no tags are lost or hard to locate. Best wishes!

You’ll Want minimum 6ft between rows if you
Want to harvest comfortably. For 100ft you’ll probably want minimum 3-4 posts per row.
make sure you get long t posts. 6-7ft.
Dont forget your Hardware. T post lock jaws and gripples.
