About wildfire.

Thank you! I think some may be affected in the Pasadena area and possibly @Figology may have been from a fire in San Fernando.

My power is still out and I’m sitting here in the dark on my iPad, haha. But my cellular internet doesn’t always get full signal so the fire maps aren’t loading for me to check how the others are doing. I’ve gotten a few evacuation warnings on my phone from the fire near me, but the fire isn’t that close to me.

I finally got a map to load, and it looks like the one fire may be affecting @Lafiggy. He said last night he was okay, but it looks like it’s more in his area now. And Greenfig and Altadena Mara may be affected from the OF forum.

when something terrible happens to someone else most people will say “I can only imagine”. I’ve said that at times myself but after seeing the news footage of the extent of the damage I could never have “imagined” anything that bad. 😢

Sorry about your power being out @Inflorescence, so many are without power now in LA County. Though I was not in the LA area for this firestorm. It was a wild climactic event that involved many in my family.. The wind storm that gave birth to The Firestorm and caused a lot of damage for my cousin in Sunland California. She had one house in it a local Canyon that lost its entire roof. In her main house in Sunland she had a tin structure completely blow down buy a hundred mile an hour wind. We also had a cousin lose a house in Pasadena that burnt down completely. Another cousin who resides in Pasadena evacuated with her 1-year-old daughter to her mother's house in San Diego. So just my one family had a lot of activity going on. I also had another childhood friend in the West Hills of Los Angeles who had to evacuate. Also crazy people were starting fires in many locations of Los Angeles. In the case of my childhood to her house thank God they they were caught starting the fire and arrested.. Los Angeles area fire departments, and police have all been Heroes during this climactic event. Thank you so much Sayabo for worrying about the victims of the climactic wildfires of California. I am sorry to hear about @Figology , and Igor/Greenfig from (OF) and the foothill chapter of crfg. both of whom have
been very generous with me helping me to build my home Orchard.. Also so generous with many other members as well. I wish them well

I'm a couple miles from the mountains, so I'm relatively safe. Luckily we had really strong winds, which only broke part of my fence.

My grandparents have had their power off since Wednesday, luckily I had a generator to lend, to at least run their fridge and a few lights.

I hope it doesn't get near you. I woke up at 4:30 to see live videos of it on Youtube and literally could not get back to sleep after that.

So many images I’ve seen are very painful to watch.

I hope those without power have access to generators or somewhere safe to go.

That's terrifying. I'm glad it hasn't hit you but I can't help but think of the people over there and all the homes. Please tell me most have decent fire insurance there. :(
I’m glad I went with my instincts and bought a house out of the high fire zones. I remembered the chaos from a previous fire when my wife and I first started dating. It was apocalyptic driving through the city near a fire storm.

Most home insurance policies cover fires, including forest fires, but don’t typically include flooding or earthquakes. This disaster is probably federally covered.

I'm wishing you lots of rain, very soon.
