Its a graft on 10 years old tree, it definitely taste unique as the name implies but thats the only Adriatic verity I have so farNice looks good was it from an inground or graft this has been hard to root for me. Also how old is the tree?

Cleft grafting, thats the only one I have some success with. I never tried chip geafting on fig but I just had a success on a citrus tree, might try it on my fig tree next year if I get some new verities. Forget about whip n tongue so hard for meThats an old tree, Whip n Tongue or Chip Bud?
Cool I never had luck with the cleft but only did about 5 so ill try some more. JSacadura has good videos on grafting and rooting on youtube.Cleft grafting, thats the only one I have some success with. That looks good. Has anyone grown and compared different Adriatics?
Here’s my old posts comparing some of the Adriatics I have (WM#1, Proscuitto Unk, Ponte Tresa, Grosse Montrueuse di Lipari, Sister Madeline Green Greek). I have more to test this season. That looks good. Has anyone grown and compared different Adriatics?

They’re all good in my opinion!

That looks super good. Love that redGreen ischia ripens better after year 2-3 by quite a bit but if ripened properly they are hard to tell apart. Here’s a perfect green ischia for your pleasure lol
It was slow to produce like many Adriatics so it joined green ischia on a permanent departure from my orchard. Harrys crete's is on its way out for same reason. SMGG is same. That looks good. Has anyone grown and compared different Adriatics?
I wonder if trees taking more than 3 years to fruit isn’t a user error. The few I had take two years to fruit just needed the extra fertilizer or larger pot to start taking off. Majority fruit first year or second year. I believe I had fruit in green ischia the first season although late.It was slow to produce like many Adriatics so it joined green ischia on a permanent departure from my orchard. 10 years til 1st fruit is crazy. I wouldn't call that a keeper, sorry to say![]()

True for just fruiting 2-3 years, it may take longer for quality fruit though. It’s tough because we (all) want to try that fig that we’ve been so excited about… Or at least decide we don’t like it so we can move on and try something else. We expect a lot from these fig trees, though… If were any other fruit we wouldn’t expect anything for a lot longer… I’m sure I’ve tossed some trees that would’ve ended up really good for me had been patient enough to wait. I’m glad I stuck it out with Prosciutto. I think I waited four years to get a good fruit and then when I finally did… Wow! Sometimes I go with my gut and hold on…. Of course sometimes they never get good and I regret holding on![]()
