Do you use the same soil as your fig trees? These were planted in 2023 and 2024. Borealis, Boreal Blizzard, Boreal Beauty, Aurora, Indigo Gem, and Boreal Beast.
Yep, same soil for everything. If I had to mix different mixes for different things I grow, I'd probably stop growing most things by now. I like to keep things very simple.... I haven't retired yet... can't afford another full-time jobDo you use the same soil as your fig trees?

How old are they?Pics of my Haskaps.
Pic 1 is Maxie
Pic 2 is Solo (foreground) & Blue Hakkaido (background).
They all started as less than 6" tall plants in 3-4" pots last spring when shipped to me. They are between 2-3 ft now. They are at the corners of my garden in 3 spots. Spacing is roughly 10-12ft on center.

My very good friend is a commercial haspkap farmer, and I tried his AMAZING honeyberry jam, and it’s like nothing you have ever tasted, so I just planted honeyberries!
I’m in PA, and his suggestion for my area were all University of Saskatchewan varieties:
- Boreal Blizzard
- Boreal Beast
- Boreal Beauty
He recommended planting them 4 feet apart, since they will fill in a few years. Plus he recommended putting Beast in center since it is the longer bloomer and super pollinator.
